Mouton Cadet is a French phrase that roughly translates to "silly Americans will drink any damn swill if it has some French words on the label"...

😂

Well, it used to be better than that.
But, yunno, Hillary Clinton broke no laws with her private email server, so I understand the theory of your point.

There is now such a thing as a White Bordeaux, which is very recent news to me. Have you tried it?

All very admirable, and I trust true.

Just a hunch.

Appearances, are everything for marketing. But having been in the wine business years ago, what is inside matters. Just like people, you can have a beautiful exterior and posterior as you so often note in your blog. But, the person may look great, but be total vinegar.

Can never judge a book by it's cover .... or a wine by it's label !
I do love a juicy, moorish red wine, and the French do them best. I love a good Beaujolais/Burgundy but as i shop in more convenient places i usually end up with the Aussie Yellow Tail, Merlot or Shiraz .... also tasty at a great price.

A stand out label is always good though as it's easier to remeber which one to buy again when faced with millions of bottles to choose from

I've seen the Aussie Yellow Tail ... funny.
Your comment makes me regret I wasn't so contraindicated to alcohol. Enjoy a glass for me soon, perhaps a fruityBeaujolais.

Je connais ce sentiment.

And this bottle right here is sitting in my house with matching glasses. A generous Valentine gift from my last ever straight monogamous lover.

To me the epitome of art nouveau elegance and on the palate, crystal clear and refreshing. The result? The only legal high that I have ever experienced other than yoga.

The promise of the label is simply part of the journey. Care enough to create an outward appearance of beauty and we will be tempted to delve further in.

A favorite form of champagne: how elegantly cum producing.

As for your assessment of the outward appearance, given what is above you, you express an unpopular notion.
